Entering the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda

 The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) determines the travel documents needed to enter the U.S. It applies to U.S. citizens and citizens of:

• Canada
• Mexico
• The Caribbean
• Bermuda

Visit the FAQ page to find the specific travel documents you will need to enter the U.S.  by air, land, and sea. WHTI standards don't apply to travelers who enter from Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories.
